Inviting, Including and Involving all people in the Life of Jesus
Invite
We want to invite others to join us in the journey of grace and obedience. We invite them to see the transformation that Jesus can bring to our lives. To accomplish our church’s vision we want to be a front porch to our community. Just as people in previous generations welcomed others to the front porches of their homes, we welcome and invite people into the presence of Jesus. Our worship services and outreach events are designed to be warm and inclusive as we invite people to experience the life they were designed to experience in Him.
Include
We want to include everyone at Chisholm Trail in a community of accountability, forgiveness, discipleship, fellowship and worship. For decades, a home’s front porch was a place for people to come together and share life. While few of us still sit with friends on our front porches, the need for inclusion remains – especially for those of us who live a life of faith in Jesus. We encourage people to include others and give and receive care in Bible Classes and Life Groups.
Involve
At Chisholm Trail, we know that each member must be involved in serving othersbefore we can function at our fullest potential. Our church is not a place for members to sit back and have all of their spiritual desires fulfilled. It is an active, working body that seeks to follow the lead and mission of Jesus, who is the head. We seek not only to follow but model Jesus. Being involved in Christ’s mission means sharing his grace and compassion with those in need, and sharing his story with all we come into contact. We have dozens of opportunities to be involved in the mission of Jesus in and through the ministries of the Chisholm Trail church family. We are always open to new ways to serve and be that front porch, so let us know if you have a gift that could be utilized to serve and be a front door to Jesus for others.
. . . A Place for Kids
We assist parents in raising children to know and love their creator. The children of today are the church of tomorrow. This fact motivates us to place a high value on the spiritual education and development of our children. We want to partner with parents to be a resource and encouragement in this challenging task. We have intentionally designed our children’s Bible classes to be small and interactive. Our primary mission in children’s ministry is to spiritually develop one child at a time.
. . . A Place for Teens
Chisholm Trail Youth Group is devoted to two things: Loving God fully and loving our neighbors as ourselves. Jesus said these were the greatest two commandments. It is our desire to model all that we do and say around what Jesus said and did! We are a safe, fun-filled group of teenagers from all over Stephen’s County that are passionate about being a family and doing life together.
We have a weekly gathering for Middle School and High School kids on Wednesday nights called ‘The Trail’ that meets upstairs at 7:00 PM. On Sunday mornings, we meet upstairs at 9:00 AM where the Middle School and High School kids meet in two separate classrooms for lessons that are timely and relevant for each age group.
CtYG is involved in serving our community in a number of ways throughout the year. Helping at the Compassion Center and nursing homes in the Duncan area, assisting with community meals and food delivery, helping to pass out turkeys and food baskets around the holidays, and youth work days are a few of the community activities we are involved in.
We take several throughout the year which normally include youth rallies, camps, mission trips, and some ‘just for fun’ trips. We would love to have any teens join us as we do life together!
